Serving Sand West came to us by happy accident — a sun-drenched corner home inside Sea Colony, Delaware's most storied private beach resort, discovered during a summer weekend and impossible to let go. What followed was a full renovation: the kitchen reworked with quartz countertops and stainless appliances, the bathrooms refinished in coastal stone, and every surface updated so that nothing about the house fights the view outside.
Bethany Beach earns its reputation as Delaware's quiet resort for good reason. No boardwalk carnival here — just miles of uncrowded shoreline, open sky, and the kind of town where the ice-cream shop closes early and that feels right. From the front door of Serving Sand West to your toes in the Atlantic is a four-minute walk. The Sea Colony complex adds a private pool, tennis courts, and a fitness center to that equation, all without leaving the property grounds.
Sam has been returning to Bethany Beach since childhood. The house sleeps 8 across 3 bedrooms, each made up with hotel-quality linen. The back deck is the real living room — morning coffee, evening paperback, salt air drifting in off the water. We keep the house exactly as we would want to find it.

For two decades, our family has been fortunate to travel to and rent at Sea Colony. We’ve enjoyed the incredible amenities, playing tennis and pickle ball, swimming at the many indoor and outdoor pools, and enjoying the private beach access.
